Hello my huns!

Hope youā€™ve all been keeping well šŸ’•

Itā€™s March 5th meaning we only have 15 days of winter left and then weā€™re into spring! šŸ£ Iā€™m buzzin huns, you can really start to see the extra light in the evenings now. For our southern hemisphere huns you have Autumn to look forward to - which is my fave season generally - so all good things! āœØ

Iā€™m having such a mare at the min with TikTok removing more music off the app every week and my posts getting muted! šŸ˜© Does anyone else really miss the catalogue of songs they used to have? šŸ„²

Over in Hun Club weā€™ve just started reading our book for this month - a juicy celeb memoir - so itā€™s a great time to join us if you want to read along! šŸ„°

šŸŒ» Little self care tip this week: Huns, the quickest way to feel like ā€˜THAT hunā€™ is to dress and show up for yourself as if you were THAT hun. I know sometimes if youā€™re feeling low that days might go by without you getting dressed properly or leaving the house, but if you get dressed and do your hair or makeup just for yourself I promise it will lift your mood. You ARE that hun! x

Dear Margie,
How do you deal with breakups? Iā€™ve been with my man for 2 years and weā€™re just not compatible. There is no cheating or anything super dramatic, but I just feel more and more annoyed by him and Iā€™m sure he feels the same way. I havenā€™t had the courage to separate just yet (itā€™s a bit complicated with sharing a lease, dividing furniture etc) but I know itā€™s inevitable. I still really love him and heā€™s such a great guy, we were friends for a really long time so the banter is so good but I just know we both deserve better. Any tips or advice would be so appreciated xx

Hey hun,
Sorry youā€™re in a bit of a rut šŸ’• There is a phenomenon, usually in economics, called a sunken cost fallacy. Itā€™s like being hesitant to shut up shop on a business thatā€™s losing money because youā€™re thinking about everything youā€™ve already invested into it and what a big deal it would be to lose all of that. When really, you stand to lose more in the long term if you donā€™t close. It seems like you might have a sunken cost fallacy in your current relationship too hun. Knowing you arenā€™t compatible anymore but staying put because of what splitting up would mean - breaking a lease, dividing personal belongings etc but itā€™s at the expense of your long term happiness. Itā€™s great that there is nothing ā€œwrongā€ - but you deserve to be in a relationship that fulfils you in every way, not just having good banter. If I was you I would write down all the things youā€™d need to sort out from splitting up and possible solutions to each. For example: sharing the lease could mean finding out how much it costs to break the lease, or if youā€™ve a 2 bedroom place, maybe exploring the possibility of one of you staying put and renting the spare room out until the lease is up. For furniture you could explore one of you giving the other half of the monetary value back and keeping the furniture, or selling it all and splitting the money. There are always solutions to these things so donā€™t let the logistics stand in the way if you know in your heart itā€™s what you need to do. In terms of having the break up conversation - plan ahead and know what it is youā€™re going to say and have it in person. Itā€™s great that you still ā€˜loveā€™ him as a person and you may already feel like the breakup is inevitable, but donā€™t be surprised if you or they get upset. Make sure you have a post break up plan, maybe tell one of your mates or family that youā€™re planning on having the conversation so that you can ring them afterwards for support if needed. Think about the living situation, will one of you stay on the couch/spare room? Will you move back home for a while? Will they leave? I know these things might sound stressful or even impossible to think about now, but if you go into the situation feeling prepared and like you have a plan you might feel a little more relaxed. The last line of your question is a great reason to give him - ā€˜I just know that we both deserve betterā€™. Itā€™s not your fault - or his - youā€™re just not compatible anymore and you both could be happier. If you have the courage to have this conversation sooner, rather than later, you will have the rest of the year to find yourself again and know what it is you truly want from a partner. You can do this hun! Everything will be okayšŸ’“
Love your mate,
Margie xxx
If you want to submit a question to Dear Margie you can hit reply huns. Make sure you mention your question is for the hunmail - otherwise I wonā€™t assume permission to share it. Iā€™m so sorry I donā€™t have the capacity to get back to everyone at the minutešŸ’“ x

Every week me nan selects a tip from one of her real life magazines especially for the huns! This weekā€™s tip:

ā€œWhat.is.thatā€¦ ITā€™S THE UNKNOWN x

Margie, Give Me Something toā€¦

šŸ‘€ Watch

Spendaholics
I love this old tv programme that focuses on peopleā€™s bad spending habits! This episode focuses on 23 year old Roxanne whoā€™s 14k in debt due to her excessive spending to ā€˜live like a celebrityā€™. It was shot in 2004 and has all the nostalgic throwbacks you can imagine! The clothes and shoes, the eyebrows, footage of the old ASOS website that literally let you shop celebrity outfitsā€¦ itā€™s SO good! It transpires that Roxanne shops as a coping mechanism for grieving her late mother though, bless her, an awful thing for anyone to go through. She seems like a lovely hun and I really hope sheā€™s doing well today x

šŸ‘‚Listen to

Scamanda
A young Christian mum starts a blog detailing her cancer journey and quickly amasses a large following of empathetic supporters all over the World. That is until investigative producer Nancy gets an anonymous tip to look at Amandaā€™s blog, leading Nancy to discover the unimaginable secret Amanda was hiding. This is such a great listen huns! You can get it on Spotify, Apple or wherever you listen to podcasts x

For any huns who missed it, I have a Spotify playlist with all of my favourite tracks - perfect for a bop around your room or a cleaning spree šŸ„° Iā€™m always adding new songs too so ya donā€™t get bored x

This gold Paulā€™s Boutique bag! The design isnā€™t as extra as the OG Paulā€™s Boutique bags, but for 20 quid itā€™s a nice bit of nostalgia. I often wonder what Cher Lloyd did with her collection of PB bags - back in 2010 she was basically their poster girl and always papped with one on her arm. Sheā€™d make a mint selling them on Vinted today x

Margieā€™s Question of the week šŸ’¬

Last week I asked - Whoā€™s the most famous person you've ever met? (From A to Z list celebs!) and you defo met every member of that A to Z list huns šŸ˜…šŸ’•

ā€œOk one time I think I saw Karl Lagerfeld get out of a car in Germany. But it could have just been another older man with long white hair in a pony tail. Any of my other celeb sightings are too Z list to even mention lolā€

ā€œBack in school they brought in the teenager who invented Ratchet clothing. Remember that!?! The paint splatter backpacks and hoodies. Not only that, they sat him alongside some bloke from Waterloo Road. It was dead weird as well cause Waterloo Road had long been finished by this point, like 12 years prior. Strangest sixth form assembly ever but I guess they're the only "known" people I've ever met.ā€

ā€œNot me but my dad! He works at an airport and hes met many from liam gallagher to alesha dixon and even stormzy!ā€

ā€œRobert Sugden from Emmerdale told me I had a flat tire the day I passed my driving test and was in the middle of a three point turnā€¦ totally unexpected and took a good five minutes to think about why I knew his faceā€

ā€˜The celebrities I have met are Hart Denton a model and he was in a show called Riverdale and the Phelps twins. The story of how I met Hart is I was in Disneyland and walking onto Main Street and saw him outside a shop I walked over to him apologized for bothering him and asked for a pic super fun experience and for the Phelps twins I was doing a comic con type thing alone and decided to get a meet and greet with them super short experience just hellos and a pic''

ā€œMet the queen of the huns while queuing for a beyoncĆ© concert (another mega hun) and ran into ALISON HAMMOND ( the literal most a-list you can get in hun world). she was absolutely lush and just as nice and funny in person as she is on the telly, stopped to have a fab convo and was amazing xā€

ā€œI've met Margot Robbie, Ryan gosling, Hugh Grant, Barry Keoghan, David Beckham, and a load more! I have photos with them all as well šŸ˜½ā€

ā€œI've run into Russell Howard a few times as he lives near me. Most notably when he came into the restaurant I used to work at and he was so nice! Proper down to earth. I was so nervous I was gonna drop his dinner all over the place but he was so lovely once I talked to him, the nerves completely disappeared.ā€

Next weekā€™s question is - ā€˜Have you ever had a spiritual experience? Something a bit ā€˜woo-wooā€™ or unexplainable?ā€™ Hit reply to this hunmail if youā€™ve got a story to share with the huns! šŸ’“

Psssstā€¦If you ever want to read all my past Hunmails you can do that here! Just enter your subscribed email to ā€˜loginā€™ and it will send you a link to read them.

Thank you for all the feedback and words of encouragement as always - you huns mean everything to me šŸ’• Have a great week!
